Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution in Glastonberry

Buy Here - £23.00

I had been eyeing up the Charlotte Tilbury products for months and in particluar I had been contemplating purchasing the matte revolution in Glastonberry. I was hesitant for buying this lipstick for three reasons 1) I have never tried this brand before 2) the price and 3) the colour.
I buy crazy amounts of lipsticks but I tend to stick to the same brands that I have grown to love an trust (MAC and YSL). Due to the price I was hesitant to try an unfamiliar brand as I know I can be quite picky when it comes to lipsticks. Although I'm not usually shy when it comes to trying new lip colours, I was a bit weary of this particular shade and slightly scared that I would not be able to pull off a colour so dark and rich.

All these fears aside I decided to go for it and I am confident in stating that I am glad that I did. I have always been a strong believer in the MAC matte lipsticks, however, although I love the appearance the MAC matte offers, I dislike how much it dries out your lips. This Charlotte Tilbury matte is different as it moisturisers the lips in a way that I thought would be impossible for a matte finish. I do not think the finishing look is as matte as MAC's but for what it lacks in appearing matte it certainly makes up for in texture.
However, I was able to create a matte finish that I was satisfied with preparing my lips first. It's all in the preparation! Firstly, I always gently brush my lips with a toothbrush to get rid of excessive skin to leave a smooth looking finish. Secondly, I apply a thin layer of transulscent face powder to my lips, which holds lip colour for longer and procudes a matte finish. I then tend to over apply my lipstick and blot with tissue paper to finish. I must appologise for the poor quality of this image bellow but I thought it would give you some idea of what Glastonberry looks like.

Tip for a fuller and jucier look - outline the lips with Milani Easy Liner in Sugar Plum.
